10 Days Serena Lodge

Day 1: Arrive:
Arrive at Kilimanjaro Aiport where you are met on arrival and transferred to Mt Village Lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 2: School and Village / Arusha National Park
Today we visit a local african school and village in Arusha, to meet the students and their teachers, and villagers and learn their life style. You can choose to spend the full day with the students or we can drive to Arusha National Park for an afternoon game drive. In the evening we will return to Arusha for overnight at Mt Village Lodge

Day 3: Tarangire National Park
This morning we will leave early in the morning and drive to Tarangire National Park. We will spend the rest of the day game driving in the park. This park boasts a high concentration of animals, including elephant, zebra, eland, wildebeest, along with plenty of predators. In the evening we will drive to the Tarangire sopa lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park
Today after breakfast we drive to Lake Manyara National Park. We will spend the rest of the day game viewing in the park and around the lake which is known for its big population of Flamingos. Lake Manyara National Park is very popular for its tree climbing Lions and is located on the base of the Great Rift Valley. We will drive back to the lodge early evening to give us enough time to rest. Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge

Day 5: Olduvai Gorge/ Masai Boma/ Serengeti National Park
We will leave early in the morning and drive through the small town of Karatu towards Ngorongoro conservation area. We will drive around the main Ngorongoro crater rim while game viewing towards the Serengeti endless plains. We will stop at Olduvai Gorge, site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s famous discoveries of man’s ancient ancestors, the Zinjanthropus Bosei. We will take tour of the site and the museum. After the tour we will continue our drive. We will stop and visit a Masai Boma (village) to learn and explore their traditions and ways of life. We will have a chance to see them performing their traditional dances and if interested you can join in the dance to add something to your adventure resume! We will proceed with our drive to Serengeti stopping to see the shifting sand, where we will be amazed by this big pile of sand that has been moving many miles for years and years. We will continue to Naabi Hill gate where we will register and start game viewing in Serengeti towards our overnight lodge Serengeti Serena Lodge

Day 6: Serengeti National Park
We will leave very early in the morning for sunrise game drive when animals are very active grazing on the grasslands and the predators are busy hunting. We will spend the entire day game viewing and following the great migration of wildebeests and a big number of predators hunting them as they migrate. We will take a picnic lunch under an acacia tree. We will put more concentration game viewing around Moru Kopjes with great chances of seen Black Rhinos and Leopards. In the evening we will make our way back to Serengeti Serena lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Serengeti National Park/ Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Today we will leave after leisurely breakfast and spend the morning game viewing in Serengeti. We will game drive towards Seronera River Valley, an area rich with wildlife year round and is set high on the saddle of tree-clad ridge commanding panoramic views over the endlessly rolling reaches and volcanic reefs of the Serengeti. If time permits, we will drive to the see the Hippos at the Retima Hippo pool where you will have a chance to get out of the vehicle and walk close to the river to see the Hippos at close proximity. With chances, you might be able to see Crocodiles too on the same pool or somewhere on the river. Later in the day, we will proceed with our drive to the Ngorongoro conservation area while game viewing on the way. We will arrive for dinner at our overnight lodge which is built on the rim with spectacular views of the crater. Overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge

Day 8: Ngorongoro Main Crater
We will leave very early in the morning for a sunrise game drive in the crater.  We will spend the day exploring the Ngorongoro crater which is a World Heritage Site, home to nearly 25,000 animals, giving you a very real chance of spotting the big five: lion, elephant, endangered black rhino, buffalo and leopard plus countless other African mammal species. Witness the magnificent array of habitats, each with its own unique wildlife and flora. Take time out to stretch your legs and enjoy a picnic lunch at Ngoitokitok Springs watching the hippos jostle for position in the water. In the evening we will return to Ngorongoro Serena lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Olmot Crater / Nainokanoka Village / and visit the Bulati Masai School
Today we will leave after leisurely breakfast and drive to the Ranger Post to pick up a Park Ranger. We will drive through the Ngorongoro highlands and hike for about 2 hours to the Olmoti crater, a critical watershed and underground reservoir, slowly releasing water throughout the year for the livestock and wildlife of the Ngorongoro Main Crater. We will have a chance to explore the crater and visit the Munge River waterfalls. After the exploration of the crater we drive to  Nainokanoka, a small Masai village. We will tour the village to explore and learn their culture and also visit the popular Masai market. Late afternoon, we will drive across the wide expanse of the “Embulbul Depression,” a retreat for wildlife from the Ngorongoro Crater. We will stop at Bulati primary school and have an opportunity to tour the school, interact with students and teachers, and participate in some school activities if interested. Bulati primary school is located in the Masai village and the majority of the students are from the Masai tribe. In the evening we will drive back to the Ranger Post to drop off the Park Ranger and proceed to Pantation Lodge for Dinner and overnight

Day 10: Drive back to Arusha
We will leave after leisurely breakfast and drive back to Arusha through the small towns of Karatu and Mto wa Mbu again. We will take few stops at curio and souvenirs shops which are beautifully decorated and full of high authentic artworks, sculptures, antiques, fabrics and textiles from Tanzania. We will arrive in Arusha for lunch, where we will have a day room for you to freshen up and have dinner, before we transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home in the evening.
